- Cream cheese-room temperature
- Cheddar Cheese– shredded. You can really use any cheese you like.
- Seasonings– Red pepper flakes for a little kick, salt, pepper, garlic powder and fresh chopped parsley. If you don’t have fresh parsley you can use dried.
- Mini pepperoni– to cover the cheese dip and make it look football-ish.
- White cheese for the laces– I used sliced provolone.
How to make it
Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature so it’s easy to mix. Cut the sliced white cheese into 1 long strip for the middle lace and 4 shorter strips for the laces. Or more strips if you are doubling the recipe and have a larger football.
To a mixing bowl add the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese and all of the seasonings. Mix together very well.
Place a piece of plastic wrap down on your work surface. Add the cheese mixture on top. Pull over both sides of the plastic wrap to completely cover the cheese dip. Shape into a football.
Refrigerate 30 minutes.
Next, add the mini pepperoni all over the sides and top of the cheese to completely cover it.
Then, place the strips of cheese on top to look like laces.
Serve room temperature with crackers, pretzels, and/or vegetable sticks.
Refrigerate if not serving right away. Remove from the fridge 20 minutes before serving for the cheese to soften.
