- Crock Pot– at least a 4 quart size
- Cream cheese– no need to soften, use it straight from the fridge
- Rotisserie chicken– see below for more chicken options
- Buffalo wing sauce– make sure to use wing sauce and not hot sauce
- Ranch dressing– your favorite
- Shredded cheese– I’m using colby jack cheese, but cheddar would be great too
What chicken to use
Chicken options for this recipe:
- Rotisserie chicken– grab a store bought chicken and shred it yourself, or some stores sell the rotisserie chicken pre-shredded.
- Canned chicken– use the equivalent of 3 cups
- Boil chicken breasts or use your preferred cooking method and then shred the chicken when cooled
How to make it
Generously spray the crockpot with nonstick cooking spray or use a crock pot liner.
Cut the cream cheese into cubes and shred the chicken. No need to soften the cream cheese, just use it straight from the fridge.
Add all ingredients to the crock pot. Cover and cook on low for 1-2 hours until the cream cheese and shredded cheese is melted.
Mix together.
Turn the crock pot to the warm setting, if you have that option, and serve warm from the crock pot or room temperature in a bowl with celery and carrot sticks, crackers and pretzels.
Refrigerate leftovers and reheat in a saucepan on the stove.
