Indulge in the ultimate layered dessert with this Oreo Brownie Trifle. It is a show-stopping treat perfect for any gathering! My daughter LOVES chocolate, so this is what I made as her birthday “cake” this year. It was just the right dessert for her party because this trifle serves a lot. Starting with rich, fudgy brownie chunks, this chocolate trifle is built in layers of velvety chocolate pudding, crushed Oreo cookies, and fluffy homemade Oreo whipped cream.
The brownies provide a decadent base with their gooey texture, while the pudding adds a luscious, creamy contrast. Crumbled Oreos offer a delightful crunch in every bite, and the Oreo whipped cream—light, airy, and packed with crushed cookies—ties it all together for a flavor-packed finale.
Presented in a clear trifle dish, the dessert’s gorgeous layers create a visual feast that’s as irresistible as it is delicious. Whether for a party, potluck, or a sweet craving, this Oreo Brownie Trifle is a surefire crowd-pleaser that’s impossible to resist!

How to Make It
Bake the brownie layer: Prepare the boxes of brownies in a 9×13 baking dish and bake according to the package directions. Let cool completely. Cut the brownies into 1 inch cubes. You’ll have some leftover, so if you want to sneak a couple cubes while cutting, they won’t be missed. 😉
Make the pudding layer: Prepare the chocolate pudding mix according to the package directions. Pour into a bowl and cover the pudding with plastic wrap. Be sure to place the plastic wrap right up against the pudding so it doesn’t develop a “skin” on top. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Prep the Oreos: add 10 Oreos to a food processor and pulse until it’s fine crumbs. Set aside to add to the whipped cream.
Place 15 Oreos in a bag and crush with a rolling pin or meat mallet. Leave them in larger pieces, you don’t want it too fine. Set aside for the Oreo layer.
Reserve 6-8 Oreos for the top decoration.
Make the whipped cream: whisk together the powdered sugar, heavy whipping cream and vanilla extract using an electric mixer.
Fold in the 10 Oreos you crushed earlier. Add 1/2 -1 cup, or so, of the whipped cream to a piping bag with a large star tip to decorate the top.
Assemble: place the cubed brownies in the bottom of a trifle dish in a single layer, covering the bottom.
Spoon over half of the pudding, covering the brownies. Sprinkle half of the 15 Oreos you crushed earlier. Spread half of the whipped cream.
Repeat the layers: place more brownie cubes over the whipped cream, covering completely. You’ll have some brownies left over.
Add the rest of the pudding, crushed Oreos and whipped cream. Smooth the top flat.
Place the whole Oreos on top in the whipped cream and pipe extra whipped cream in between the Oreos.

Tips
- Make Ahead: This trifle can be make the day before. Wrap in plastic wrap and store in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.
- Reserve the whole Oreos to decorate the top just before serving, so the Oreos don’t get mushy.
- Chill for Better Flavor: Let the trifle chill for at least 2–4 hours before serving. This allows the flavors to meld and the layers to set.
- Keep the Layers Defined: Use a piping bag or spoon to carefully layer the pudding and whipped cream for a clean, polished look.
- Make individual servings in mason jars or dessert glasses for a cute, portable option.
- Can I customize this trifle? Absolutely! Add layers of caramel sauce, chocolate chips, or peanut butter cups for extra decadence. You can even switch the pudding flavor to vanilla or white chocolate for variety.
- Refrigerate leftovers. Cover the trifle dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate. It’s best enjoyed within 2–3 days; the texture of the Oreos may soften over time.
- Can I make this trifle gluten-free? Yes! Use gluten-free brownies and substitute regular Oreos with gluten-free ones.
