Add perfectly crispy chickpeas to the long list of delicious things you can make in the air fryer. The secret to the crispiness is to air fry them twice.

Benefits of Chickpeas

There are so many things to love about chickpeas!

  • They are an excellent source of protein, about 8 grams of protein per half cup
  • High in fiber
  • Vegetarian and vegan friendly and they are naturally gluten-free
  • Inexpensive
  • Chickpeas can be used in main meals, salads, soups, and even desserts!

What you’ll need

  • Air fryer- I love the Cosori TurboBlaze. This is the air fryer I have and it’s very user friendly.
  • 15 ounce can chickpeas- drained, rinsed and patted dry
  • Olive oil, or your favorite oil
  • Seasonings- paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder, or add your favorites

How to make

  1. Drain and rinse the chickpeas. Pat them dry with a towel. Try to get them as dry as possible.
  2. Air fry the plain chickpeas at 400°F for 5 minutes.

3. Pour the chickpeas into a bowl and add the olive oil. Mix well. Transfer the chickpeas back into the air fryer basket and co 15-20 minutes at 400°F, or until crispy.

4. Return to the bowl and add the seasonings. Add any of your favorite seasonings! Toss to coat and enjoy.

How to enjoy

Air fried chickpeas are delicious on their own as a savory and crunchy snack. They are also perfect over a salad, tossed into a bowl of soup or stew, or enjoyed on top of a rice bowl. Try them mixed into trail mix or a snack mix.
