If you want an easy hands off holiday, this slow cooked ham is for you! It’s perfect for a busy weeknight or for your holiday dinner. Just five main ingredients and 10 minutes of prep time to free you up so you can focus on more important things.
What you’ll need
- A 7-8 quart size crock pot
- Ham– 2-5 pounds. I’m using a little over 4 pounds which will serve 6 people.
- Orange Marmalade– substitute apricot or peach jam
- Mustard– Stone ground mustard is my favorite, but you can also use yellow mustard, dijon, brown mustard or honey mustard. Any mustard you have on hand will work!
- Maple syrup– or use honey for sweetness
- Seasonings– garlic powder, black pepper, onion powder.
- Carving knife to easily slice the ham. These are so worth the investment, it makes carving meat a breeze. I personally own this electric knife and I LOVE it! So easy to use.
How to make Slow Cooker Glazed Ham
Score the ham. If it’s not already done for you, use a sharp knife and score the ham in a diamond pattern by cutting about 1/2 inch down in the fat or rind sides. Place the ham in the crock pot.
Prepare the glaze. To a bowl add the orange marmalade, mustard, maple syrup, and seasonings.
Microwave 30 seconds to 1 minute to melt the marmalade and make it easy to mix together.
Pour the glaze over the ham. Cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2 1/2 hours.
Carve. Let the ham rest on the cutting board for 10 minutes before carving. Serve with a side of mashed potatoes and your favorite veggie for an easy, comforting meal.
So juicy and delicious! Your family will love this recipe.
