How to make Death by Chocolate Cake in the Crock Pot
Step 1: Prepare the crock pot. Spray the inside with non-stick spray, butter it or line the inside with parchment paper, if you want to lift the cake out of the crock to serve.
In the crock pot whisk together the cake mix and the chocolate pudding mix. Add in the rest of the ingredients (except the chocolate chips) and mix together using a hand mixer.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Cook on low 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours. You can place a kitchen towel on top of the crock pot, under the lid to absorb condensation so it doesn’t drip into your cake. Make sure the lid is on tightly.
Slice and serve with ice cream or whipped cream. You could also frost the cake or add any of your favorite toppings! A cake toppings bar would be so fun!
Tips, Tricks, and Suggestions
- Place a kitchen towel between the crock pot and the lid to collect condensation.
- If you want to lift the cake out of the crock pot after cooking to cut into slices and serve, line it with parchment paper with an over hang.
- Scoop out and store leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container up to 3 days.
- Top with your favorites: icing, ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate fudge, sprinkles, etc.
